Joe Reynolds loved participating in adventure activities and wanted to share his passion with others. He did not have any prior experience in managing event-production business. However, with $5000, partner Ryan Kunkel and a lot of hard work, he set up Red Frog Events.
Here are some tips from Joe Reynolds for entrepreneurs who would like to start businesses based on their interests:
- Just being passionate is not enough to grow your business. Be practical. Check if your idea solves a problem or serves a particular need. Find out if there is a market for it.
- Be good at what you do. Get feedback from your customers and know what they think about you.
- Instead of doing everything yourself, delegate some of your tasks. Find a partner who can manage some of the important business functions.
- Recruit people who understand and share your passion.
- Share your passion and knowledge with as many people as you can.
- Don’t lose your original enthusiasm while driving your business. Keep your passion alive by doing what you love to do.
- Make an effort to add fun element to work.
